Courteney has an arts degree in writing studies and screen media and has unique methods for sourcing inspiration when it comes to producing original ideas. Go ahead and check out our interview with our easy-going writer:
What made you want to join Neon Hive?
The diversity! I loved the idea of working for a company that produces beautiful web design for any and every kind of business. It means there is never a dull project that lands on the table.
What’s your favorite aspect of working with Neon Hive?
Working for Neon Hive is unlike any other job I’ve had. Jonathan allows limitless space for innovation and passion to meet. The encouragement you get for pushing creative boundaries is hands down my favourite aspect.
Who in your life inspires you?
My parents who have a countless zest for life. For as long as I can remember they’ve told me to try everything at least once; whether it be food, music, travel, books or outdoor activities. This attitude towards living has deeply inspired me to recognise beauty in all things. I find this vision to be my main point of help when it comes to creating fresh and powerful content.
Describe your personality in three words.
Enthusiastic, intuitive and a romantic - c’est la vie.
Your top 3 favorite Podcasts/Books?
Scar Tissue by Larry Sloman is a book I read every Summer, I find each year it tells me something new about myself. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn has the most beautiful, clinical feel to it’s writing, I can’t quit reading it. And any poetry written by William Butler Yeats, but I won’t tell you my favourite poem because it is far too good for others to read!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Cooking dinner with friends, wine and music.
Who would you most like to swap places with for the day and why?
Stevie Nicks in her salad days. Who wouldn’t love to be the girl with the ribbons and the tambourine? I would simply love to spend a day inside her mind and also inside her San Francisco apartment from the 70’s.
Lastly, and most importantly, how do you take your coffee?
Soy latte, steaming hot.
